Rex is such a good boy. He is so friendly and sweet. He loves playing fetch with tennis balls and playing tug of war. He loves to run and play and needs a fenced yard with a 6′ privacy fence. If Rex is not kept in a fenced yard, he will run if he sees a bird or just wants to burn energy. We do think he could be trained on an electric fence but must be leashed while being trained. When he’s not running in the yard, he’s curled up on the couch with his head in your lap or giving you kisses. He’s a real couch potato and is happy just lying next to you. He also loves sleeping in bed with you, he lifts the covers with his paws and burrows under the covers. He’s completely adorable! He is very kid friendly and tolerant of kids! He is dog friendly and he’s quick to learn the ‘pecking order’ if he is with other dogs. He tends to ignore dominant dogs and bonds well and plays with more submissive dogs. He also loves car rides so adventures out will be fun for him!
Rex does need some training as he has food aggression when food bowls are left out so he will need to eat separately from other dogs until he is trained to share. He will sit on command and take treats from your hand very gently even when other dogs are around, but if food is left on the floor he will become aggressive towards another dog to get the food first. He has not been trained to come when called so he will need recall training.
Rex is 2 years old and still lots of puppy. He is neutered and up to date on shots. He has been around cats and ignores them. Rex is crate trained, housebroken and good on a leash. He will be a great addition to any family. He is a great dog and we would love to see him go to a happy, loving family who will give him the love and attention he deserves. His tail wags with everyone he meets. He’s an all around awesome dog and anyone would be lucky to have him! If you have a 6′ privacy fence with a nice yard to run and play, have the time and attention to give to this sweet boy, please fill out an application to adopt!
